  3. We don't know if the teacher's lack of performance in the area of assessment is due to lack of professional development/knowledge or resistance to those practices.

What would we do: we would need to collaborate with the teacher in gathering and analyzing formative data and helping the teacher see how it could be used to inform instruction AND affect student performance. So this would be job-embedded PD.

  4. There seems to be a disconnect between factors that contribute to the classroom environment and planning, and what actually takes place in the classroom.

  5. Seems to have some issues in terms of student engagement, transitions, checking for understanding.... Is the teacher teaching the subject or the students?

  6. Students are not assessed during the observation. The teacher would not be aware of what learning is taking place. The students are not active learners.

  8. There are many factors that are needing to be considered when analyzing this data. For one, what tool was utilized to collect the data? Also, why aren't the assessment and learning objectives aligned? Is the student learning truly student centered? Why aren't all students being engaged in questioning?
